It is giveaway time again (yay!). If you are an artisan and/or small business owner interested in offering an item for a Giveaway, please send me a note for all the details.
This week I am pleased to welcome Linda of Mamma 4 Earth, a South African artisan who creates the most delightful knitted critters and knitting patterns.
I asked Linda how she began her business:
I love creating Waldorf inspired toys from natural wool, yarn, fibre and wood. My children have been my inspiration and I think that homeschooling them with a Waldorf philosophy has also brought about a tremendous shift towards all that is natural and sustainable within our home. I really enjoy the creative process of designing and making a treasured toy that will be sent out into the world across the ocean from South Africa for someone to hold and love. My toys are very simplistic in their design to encourage the imagination of the child to flow freely.
Do you have any special focus or goals for this new year business wise?I do, my special focus this year will be on creating more patterns of African and farm animals for my shop and I am also currently writing my first book, which should be published at the end of the year. It will be a book of knitted animal patterns and other treasures...
Tell us about a great family day at your house:
Christmas day lunch is always a wonderful family celebration at our house. Everyone brings a dish of their choice and then we all sit down together at the dining room table and thouroughly enjoy the day.

I love mama4earths animal patterns they are so adorable. I especially love the goat pattern as I have been thinking of making 3 for the billy goats gruff story.
I love Mama4Earth's creations, and if I absolutely had to choose just one, I would pick the darling little nest @ http://www.etsy.com/listing/68141739/needle-felted-birds-nest-and-eggs-easter ...but I'm truly torn between that and the guinea fowl or the adorable little penguin. /sigh
Yay! I'm so happy Mama4earth is having a giveaway. My favorite creature of hers is actually that little squirrel up there, though the hedgehog is a close second. :)
