There is nothing better than hearing your child cheer "I LOVE this book!".
That was the reaction to book #9 of our series of holiday stories for the month of December.
I heartily concur.
A Stranger in the Woods bills itself as a 'photographic fantasy', and indeed, it is.
But along with the beautiful winter images, come winsome words from the mouth sof the various creatures~ words that suit them so well... the chickadee speaks with extra 'dee-dees' on its words, the squirrel chatters, the mouse shivers and the Owl of Many Questions asks "who? who?".
All the animals in the woods are curious about a stranger in their midst... a snowman. As they get up the courage to approach him, they find he is surrounded by edible things and they enjoy the seeds, corn, and even his carrot nose. In the woods, two young children watch with delight and commit to feeding the animals all winter long.
The book also has an associated movie and there are several more in the series, too!
