BTRT Patterns (on Etsy)

Monday, 11 August 2014
Hooray! It is giveaway time.
And we have some super seriously wonder-full prizes to be won!

Now that I have quit my 'day job' (=20 year career, eek!) to focus on BTRT (and homeschooling!) it is time to really kick things into high gear!  I am so grateful to the many amazing people who have supported our family on this journey in nearly 8 years of business to reach this point of 'dream come true'~ living a simpler and more creative life.

Beneath the Rowan Tree began out of a passion to support families in nurturing their children gently and with great imagination and creativity into the wonder full people they are born to be.
That is still our reason for being today.

So whether you are a longtime part of the BTRT community, or this is your first visit (welcome!) ~ please take a moment and enter our giveaway, in any of the various ways that work for you. If you would be so kind as to share this with others, that would be wonderful... consider it a virtual high-five for the work we all do and our common goal as parents and supporters of the wonder and playful work of childhood! *high five*

This giveaway is open worldwide, and you can view the full terms through the Rafflecopter widget below.

Thank you ♥♥

I love natural toys for their play value and quality of materials.

I choose natural toys because they resonate with a different (and preferable) energy than synthetic materials, are more ecofriendly, tend to be more open ended and thus, can be enjoyed for many years, and look and feel so much more beautiful!

We choose natural toys because they allow more use of the imagination, and are high in quality!

I love seeing their faces light up with possibilities and not with electronic lights!

It is wonderful to see children be able to create worlds with their imagination and to play within those worlds. Natural toys are beautiful in their 'simplicity' and what they allow is equally so.

Oh, I didn't answer the question! Why do I want natural toys for my family? because I want my children to decide what the toys should do and not the other way around.

Casey said...

I love natural toys because they're what my kids actually play with!

I found your blog while looking at your play silk wands on your Easy page. I am enjoying looking through your blog posts. Waldorf is new to me, but I absolutely love it.

We love natural toys because they are beautiful, and they encourage imaginative play. We also love the "made by hand" aspect of natural toys.

We absolutely adore your products and I'm so happy for you that you have taken the plunge to this new life!

I tend to choose natural toys because the makers also incorporate imaginative play in their toys. I also want my children to feel comfortable with and drawn to nature, if all they hold are plastic, battery-operated toys, they simply won't know what to do with a stick!

Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. I just discovered your shop on etsy and would love to see your beautiful creations in person for my daughter! Love and light! Manuela

Natural toys (which for us, is mostly synonymous with handmade) have love poured into them. They were made with children, not profit in mind. We don't have many toys, but we have beautiful things with a story..and that's important!

I like natural toys because they're beautiful and more healthy for my children.

Because not only are they lovely and lasting but it teaches my children that there is value in craftsmanship and quality over quantity.

I buy natural toys because they are earth friendly and non-toxic, but also for the beauty of colors, textures, patterns, shapes, etc. that nature provides.

I love the look of natural toys. We have a child who has had brain cancer and going through that we now look at everything through a critical eye. if we can avoid toxins of any kind we will. Especially in play items. thank you for putting on such a lovely giveaway.

We love natural toys for so many reasons. They are better for our children and the earth. They are beautiful to look at and play with. They are warm and inviting. They tend to be more open ended and imaginative. Purchasing them often supports small artisans.

Twila Owen said...

We love natural toys because they tend to be more durable, more open-ended and imaginative.

I love how open ended natural toys can be, and how much that engages my child's imagination and grows with her.
